Forest Work
Forest Work is my ongoing movement research practice in nature – specifically in the coastal temperate rainforests of BC. Forest Work is about seeking mutuality and bringing the body into conversation with its organic surroundings, into a kind of ‘duet’.
Movement Research Residency at the Jeffrey Rubinoff Sculpture Park
A somatic exploration of body in conversation with the steel sculptures of Jeffrey Rubinoff in the dedicated sculpture park on Hornby Island, BC. Engaging with the late artist's quote that:
Music is sculpture in elastic space Sculpture is music in plastic space
And my contention that:
Dance works in both plastic and elastic space.
