Teaching
I believe in body-based inquiry, creative expression, and “thinking” beyond the intellect. I believe that this kind of embodiment is an innate tool for healing and creativity, as we discover new ways of moving, connecting, and finding inspiration.

WHAT:
This is an exploratory movement class combining improvised movement and somatic work, and suited to an older adult (55+) crowd. I will guide the group to ground ourselves in the body - sensing, observing and "thinking" with the body - and engage in creative inquiry through prompts and exercises; we will work with ourselves (solo) and with others (duets+) to expand our range of tools for movement, dance, and physical expression. All bodies and abilities welcome: we will work and move at our own pace.
No experience necessary, curiosity required!
*Bring a water bottle & clothes to move in
*Feel free to come a few min early to get settled
*No street shoes, please. If foot support is needed, please bring indoor/dance floor-appropriate footwear.

WRITE / MOVE - UPCOMING
November 2026
Sunday afternoons in November
at The Dance Centre (Zagar Studio)
Further details forthcoming (email to enquire)
A hybrid workshop combining creative writing and movement with Ellie Sawatzky & Zoe Jordan.
Through writing prompts, guided exercises, and free movement, we will explore how language and the body inform one another. You might dance a poem or write an embodied memory, or discover the shape of a feeling for which you don’t yet have words. Together we’ll explore how words live in the body, how movement can generate language, and how attention to sensation can open new creative pathways.
